Welcome from Colombia.

I always wanted to create a space where we can share the many dimensions to owning, running, and growing our coffee business. From the coffee itself, to the unique elements of business as it is, we want to share how it all happens.

And I thought there would be no better place to kick off this project, then from a small cafe in Medellin, Colombia. It also happens to be my favorite cafe so far in Medellin.

We are in Colombia to explore Medellin, and also visit coffee farms and dry mills in Armenia. We are on the hunt for our next great coffees to bring to the people of Tennessee.

So far, Medellin has been such a surprise - some of the warmest people I have met in my travels. Everyone here is so tranquilo, and their lives seem grounded on a common love for coffee. There is a vibrance to the life here - as messy as some parts of it may seem - that makes this American envious. A common happiness is shared, regardless of status or affiliation.

Just this morning, in this very cafe, I brought a can of Whispered Sermon for the staff to enjoy. They were so excited. They immediately ground it up, ran it through an expertly prepared Chemex, and everyone had a cup - una taza - to sample it. We literally had an impromptu cupping right behind the counter.

I am so excited to continue this coffee journey and meet more of these wonderful people.
